Lakas-Kampi Party standard bearer Gilberto Teodoro knows part of the reason why the Maguindanao massacre happened
November 26, 2009 | Posted by raissa robles A source who personally knows members of the Ampatuan family has just told me this piece of disturbing news:
First, assuming the son Andal Ampatuan Jnr. carried out the crime, the son is NOT the mastermind. The son reportedly carried it out on someone else’ orders. The key to finding the mastermind is the back hoe or excavator which had been digging up the killing fields even before Monday’s carnage.
The family decided that for the sake of the family’s political survival, the son would have to surrender to authorities and defend himself before a court of law. The family fully regrets what had happened.
Second, before the mass murder took place Lakas-Kampi Party presidential standard bearer Gilberto Teodoro tried to negotiate a political settlement between the Ampatuans and the Mangudadatus. In that meeting, the Ampatuan patriarch Andal Snr. reportedly expressed outrage that his allies the Mangadadatus had refused to concede the governorship to his namesake, otherwise known as “Datu Unsay”.
From what my source told me, I can only conclude that Teodoro knew even then how enraged the old man Ampatuan was.
Teodoro is a decent person. I wish he would disclose what had happened in his consensus-building meeting with the two families, which fell apart and led to Monday’s carnage.

John, If Gibo would make the testimony on what he witnessed during that meeting , of course things will have its direction…the motives will then be established. And why wont you connect the Ampatuans to GMA, they were LAKAS members and is the 12-0 vote for the admin last two elections not enough to tell a sweet affair between them(political, i mean). I dont know why some people are to naive to look into this matter as if it was a simple accident. GMA would not order that massacre of course, how stupid a person could think of that. But she had tolerated these animals to what they become now simply because they give her the votes she needed, pls remember she only won by a million and Magindanao had 1.5M voters and its always a zero vote for the opposition.So dont hesitate ask what you want…you want her head? My advice dont….its full of evil thoughts!!!!

Bakit? porke alam mong enraged si ampatuan eh iisipin mo ng mang massacre sya ng mga tao?! Even the magundadatu’s nman siguro knows how enraged ampatuan is! Why point fingers at Teodoro and say na he knows part of the reason why the massacre happened?! I’m not pro teodoro or any presidentiable but i think it is just unfair na sabihin nating he knows part of the reason why the massacre happened. Buti nga may isang taong nag try na isettle yung 2 feuding families, yung iba? anong ginagawa nila?
Edong, I am trying to appeal to Teodoro’s better self.

But most of us continue to tolerate her and as a result, she is still in office. Therefore most Filipinos are not decent persons.

The Ampatuans were made long before GMA. These political kingpins (warlords, if you may) were made possible from the time Cotabato province was split into the many provinces that it is now, provinces that allowed these families to keep to themselves. Pres. Marcos allowed this, and all the Presidents since then, allowed this situation to go on. It was a way to “buy peace” in the area. The Mangundadatus were more progressive (I would dare say like the younger Paglas family members) and were seen as people who could bring a better, more progressive future in the area. The feudal sentiments of the Ampatuans (keep their people poor so that they can be controlled) would not allow progressive outsiders to gain access to their area.

Maybe what I’m trying to say is, Teodoro is a material witness to what eventually took place. He knew the context of the massacre, although I’m sure he himself was shocked by it. But he knew what could have prompted the massacre. In fact I think he could be presented as a witness for the prosecution.
As for ABS-CBN, I agree with what you mean. The network as a policy is “embedded” in the Noynoy campaign. HOwever, you have to look at the reputation of individual writers. I believe the piece that I mentioned was written by Ces Drilon. she’s an able, veteran writer and knows Mindanao very well, esp after she was snatched by the Abu Sayyaf.
But it’s true. GMA MADE the Ampatuans. The family rose to power only after Zaldy Ampatuan replaced Nur Misuari after his followers went on a deadly rampage because GMA refused to endorse his reelection as ARMM governor.
Ma’am, if Gibo will confirm that fact, would it change anything? i mean, will he be responsible for it?
no doubt ABS-CBN is a reliable source, but sometimes, it seems to me that they are against LAKAS… why did i say so? recent news posted in their site always mentions the name of Pres.GMA as allies of the Ampatuans and they keep on connecting the issue to LAKAS, as if the party or Pres.GMA told the Ampatuans to kill the clan of Mangudadatus…
but in case Pres.GMA is really behind this, i want her head be guillotined also.
Maguindanao massacre is really a condemnable incident! i hope that justice will be serve at any cost! very inhuman, very evil!
