My new comments policy

After writing about the Marcoses, I was shocked by the viciousness of some of the comments written on my blog.

For instance, this commentator who went by the name “Stuffy” wrote in reaction to my blog entry entitled “Voting Bongbong Marcos will give crooks the green light to steal”:

Raissa,

The Marcoses are back, will return to full power in 2016 and you can’t do squat save for ranting in this corner of the web. Spread open and suck it down!

Marcos pa rin!!! :)

Stuffingly yours,

Stuffy

I guess that’s what being out of the power loop does to you.

I am not at all intimidated by you. And since I intend to write much, much more on the Marcoses and other equally, if not more controversial topics, I am hereby adopting this new comments policy.

I am giving notice that I reserve the right to CHANGE or DELETE really nasty or vicious comments that do nothing to help shed light on the subject but merely attack my person or character without logical or evidentiary basis. Initially, I thought I would let such comments stand but I’ve decided I will not let myself be abused online.

If you want to attack me,  set up your own blog. But you can’t do it in mine.

I will also DELETE or CHANGE comments from those who keep changing their pseudonyms just to give the impression that different people are posting the same kinds of comments on my blog. And I will point out when that happens.

There are also trolls out there on the Internet whose only joy is to go into blogs, pick fights and bash without basis. My new comments policy for them is – I will identify you if you are a troll, and label you as such.

For everyone else who have taken the time out to read my blog, I welcome various comments. This is after all a blog in progress and an adventure which I hope to share with you all.

@mario taporco – Thank you. I appreciate your support.

I would like to ask your help to enlighten other Filipinos – especially the youth – on the REAL Marcoses.

Marcoses style of politics is old and obsolete, what in today is a politics with moral relevance, that can provide equal start to a group of people towards growth and sustained environment.

  3. raissa,

Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! If we Filipinos was to ask ourselves, what are the character, and the criteria of greatness in a president?

Let me kindly put it this way. Also, to be short and concise,A Good Repute.”

With due respect, and first, all were what we must call “strong” Presidents. All believed the President should be both a symbol and a leader…. Second, all ranged themselves on the side of all Filipino people, of an enlarged scope for a good government, and to establish an agora for good governance, for the Filipinos, and by the people of the whole archipelagoes.

No “Henchmen” or “Clansmen” allowed, and should be omitted out, of existance. (lots of favors are being routed with these scenarios)

Third criterion, being a good administrator and politician, is not, it turns out…, (the contradiction is his[er]). But the fourth may be found in all of these true leaders. It is, quite simply, sagacity, intelligence and wisdom.

“I wanted to add “something else” in a true leader, but i forgot, we are HUMAN being and we constantly make mistakes…, Sorry!”

    Finally,

There is this indispensable common denominator that outdo or exceed in excellence of all others: all the great Presidents were men of principle, ( sorry PGMA, you did not meet my expectations) prepared to sacrifice popularity to what they thought was right.

And in conclusion, Marcoses…, your end is near 2016, maybe even sooner. We are not stupid FILIPINOS.

I applaud you, you are one of my few fav “bloggerettes

… your knowledge shared with us keep our spirit strong… thank you, Rissa!

  9. For sending Leslie Bocobo – a surprisingly rabid, vociferous, Bongbong Marcos supporter a PM (private message) on Facebook a few months before the May 10 election, basically stating, “Marcos money is blood money; where is your integrity?” – I was savaged by a Jerms Estrada, a chef from SFO, and to a lesser degree, Hep Martinez, Jayvee Cruz, Leslie Bocobo himself, plus a few of his FB friends who live abroad. (Ahem)

If words could kill – and their “ad hominems” (personal rather than logical attack addressing the issue) couldn’t have been more vicious – I’d be dead by now, my mutilated body unmistakably marked by severe, merciless, torture.

Unfathomable – I am an honorary member of the RP gay federacion!

(P.S. Read your blog entry, “Voting Bongbong Marcos Will Give Crooks the Green Light To Steal.” Kudos. :D )

I am also appalled at this Stuffy’s comment about the Marcoses (and he/she, referring to Stuffy, as their lapdog) being back to power in 2016. The gall! And the foul mouth!

And what are you guys going to do when you get back to power? declare martial law again? jail or salvage suspected enemies of the state? steal another $10 billion from the nation’s coffers? shoot a vocal critic at his back as he steps down a plane to return to his home land? And when all is said and done about that dictatorial and oppressive rule, pretend none of these have happened?

Stuffy, you may have a very short memory, but we don’t. Best to keep your mouth shut, between now and 2016 ! And if you can’t help it, shove your mouth down your ……, where it rightly belongs!

  11. Grace says:

hahaha go girl! Stuffy can stuff it.
