In the first place he is not a hired lawyer, his service is pro bono. He knows now the details Corona bank deposits. He also knows the explanation given by Corona to him. Since the beginning he has been complaining about public perception of guilt on Corona. The best way erasing that perception is explaining the truth on deposits. He coud not feign unknowledgeable. He knows there is no expanation, that is why all those silly excuses came out from Defense as well as delaying tactics and diversionary accusations were employed to come with a good legal explanation. Best he should have done is withdraw, give any reason and after trial he woud explain that the best lawyer is an honest one on the twilight of his career. He would have left an excellent legacy to the law profession rather than fighting by legal maneuvers devoid of compete truth on the source of income working on the principle of duty to defend the client. An innocent client is acceptable but defending an obvious guilty client is not worth sticking to professional oath. Losing a case is one thing but losing at the end of the career by supporting dishonesty, corruption and spreading lies the way he accused Aquino of pressuring him to withdraw the case in exchange of a favor speaks of his inferior integrity and pitiful character. Worst his granchildren would read that he was a brilliant lawyer until his last famous trial when he dragged his dignity to the bottom of a filthy pit along with a corrupt chief justice. Raissa is actually doing him a favor by criticizing him. Maybe he is reading this blog and his senile mind will activate the remaining moral braincells in his body waking him up in his stupor.
